how we work

At The Webs We Weave we know how to get the most from the internet, and we know how to inform and guide potential customers to achieve your business goals. We also understand that we will never know your business and your customers as well as you do.

Our web sites are successful because we manage our projects very closely, and because we stay in close contact with you throughout development. Here’s how.

understanding your needs

From the first time we speak to you, our goal is to find out more about your company and why you might need our help. This means reviewing your existing web site if you have one, researching competitors and other web sites in your industry, and generally building a picture of what you might need.

Needs AnalysisBefore providing a proposal, we like to ask you more about your current situation – who your customers are, why you want a new web site, any current problems you have and your specific goals for the project. This allows us to make suggestions and offer guidance on how you might achieve your needs, and then to produce a tailored proposal of services.

The proposal also sets a benchmark for the project, providing broad aims for the web site and allowing us to assess its success in the future.

planning your project

When you decide to use our services, your project manager will be Jeff Lewis, President and CEO of The Webs We Weave, to look after your project throughout development. At this point we will go through the stages of the project in more detail, so you know what will happen and what we need from you. We will also confirm the project schedule.

Jeff will meet you to discuss the precise requirements of your web site, covering the issues that we know will come up (such as navigation and design), as well as anything specific to your project. The resulting specifications allow us to define the project and help reduce any unforeseen issues that might occur during development, so your web site is completed more quickly.

If your project involves design, you will also meet with a designer who will ask about your brand values and design ideas, which will help us to produce the best branding and web site design for your project.

open development

While thorough preparation before a project will help things run more smoothly, we still make allowances for the inevitable changes and adjustments as the site is developed. We know that once you see designs and a live web site, you will see the project differently and come up with more ideas and changes.

Design concepts will be provided at each key stage of development, so we can be sure we’re always going in the right direction. You’ll also get a link to your live working site at the earliest opportunity. This allows you and any other parties to use the live site, get a better idea of what works and what doesn't, and provide feedback for us to implement.

testing and launching your web site

Once the site is finished, we will use the original requirements document (incorporating any tweaks during development) to confirm that everything is complete. We set and test our own stringent in-house standards for web coding, and in particular compliance of accessibility guidelines. Throughout development, we will be asking for your feedback, including that of any specific user groups you want to be involved.

supporting your development

Much of our work comes from our existing clients, and we value our long-term relationships very highly. After the completion of your web site we will conduct a detailed review, not only into how we have met your original goals, but also to assess our own service. If you’ve asked for search engine optimization, we record ‘before and after’ results to assess the effect of our work.

We remain available for ongoing changes and development, and are very proud of the flexibility and salability of our web sites
