If you often use images you find online for blog posts or any other use for that matter, it’s essential to have a go-to list of websites where you can find images quickly and effectively. Just as important is that your list of websites are clear and concise about their legal restrictions.

Below you will find my go-to list of websites to find free images online. I have also included some paid resources, just in case you can’t find what you need for free.

Google Images

You can find many free quality images at Google images, but make sure they are licensed for commercial use, otherwise you may have someone contacting you demanding they be paid for your use of their image on your website. Follow this procedure to search for images licensed for free commercial use:

  • Click the icon in the upper right of the search results page (it looks like a little gear). Select Advanced Search.
  • Scroll down to the Usage Rights section and choose Free to use of share, even commercially.
  • Then, click the Advanced Search button.

Your results are now all free to use commercially with no worries about patent or intellectual rights infringement.
